Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Ruyat mobile application ("App", "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
Ruyat is a prayer time and Hijri calendar application designed to serve the Muslim community by providing accurate Salah timings, Hijri dates, and related Islamic features based on your geographic location.
Description of Service
Ruyat provides the following core features:
- Daily prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) based on your location
- Current Hijri (Islamic) date display and conversion
- Location-based prayer time calculation using recognized calculation methods
- Prayer time notifications and reminders (Adhan alerts)
- Qibla direction based on GPS coordinates
- Monthly and yearly Hijri calendar view
Prayer times are calculated using established Islamic calculation methodologies. Ruyat supports multiple methods including MWL, ISNA, Egypt, Makkah, Karachi, and others to accommodate regional preferences.
Location Permission & Use
To provide accurate prayer times tailored to your area, Ruyat requires access to your device's location services. By granting location permission, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Ruyat will access your precise or approximate GPS coordinates to calculate local prayer times
- Location data is used solely for the purpose of prayer time calculation and Qibla direction
- You may use the App in manual mode by entering your city or coordinates, without granting location permission
- Ruyat does not sell, share, or transmit your location data to third parties for advertising or tracking purposes
- Location data is processed on-device wherever technically possible
User Responsibilities
As a user of Ruyat, you agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify any part of the App
- Not use the App to distribute malware, spam, or any harmful content
- Ensure your device settings allow the App to function correctly
- Verify prayer times with your local mosque or Islamic authority in cases of religious significance
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and ensuring no unauthorized party accesses your personal settings within the App.
Accuracy Disclaimer
Ruyat calculates prayer times using established astronomical algorithms and recognized Islamic calculation methods. However:
- Prayer times may vary slightly due to elevation, local geography, or regional conventions
- Ruyat is not liable for missed prayers resulting from reliance on the App's timings
- Hijri dates displayed are calculated and may differ by one day from moon-sighted dates in some regions
- Users in areas with extreme latitudes may experience irregular calculation results
Intellectual Property
All content within Ruyat — including but not limited to the app name, logo, design, code, icons, and Islamic content — is the intellectual property of the Ruyat development team and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
- You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute the App's content without written permission
- Quranic verses and Islamic texts are used for informational purposes and belong to the public domain of Islamic heritage
- Third-party libraries used within the App are subject to their respective licenses
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ruyat and its developers shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the App
- Loss of data, device malfunction, or service interruption
- Inaccuracies in prayer times or Hijri date calculations
- Failure of notifications due to device settings, battery optimization, or operating system restrictions
The App is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
Modifications to the App
Ruyat reserves the right to:
- Update, modify, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time without prior notice
- Change calculation methods or data sources to improve accuracy
- Introduce new features or remove existing ones based on user feedback and technical requirements
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Ruyat development team operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if unresolved, through applicable legal channels in the relevant jurisdiction.
Children's Use
Ruyat is suitable for users of all ages, including children using the App under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. Parents are encouraged to supervise their children's use of location-enabled features.
